WINDHOEK, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) — Namibia is facing with a serious possibility of floods in the northern part of the country following incessant heavy rains in the past few days.
The Namibia Meteorological Service on Friday said the country coming from a rather dry spell and a drought has seen most towns and villages in the north and northeastern part of the country showing signs of flash floods.
The Meteorological Service office said the Namibia received 60 millimeters of rainfall in three days, which is way above average rainfall.
The Meteorological Service warned citizens to be cautious when driving while cities including the capital city Windhoek have also issued warning to drivers not to cross low lying bridges during the rain periods as they risk being washed away.
Windhoek has also been been experiencing constant rain in the past few days.
