Gujarat: Massive fire broke out at chemical factory in Vapi city

A monstrous fire broke out at a chemical factory located in Vapi city of Valsad district in Gujarat on 8 August 2020, Saturday afternoon.

 

A blast was also heard when the blazes erupted high in the sky when the fire broke out at the chemical company naming Shakti Bio, situated next to Padam Plastic.

 

Vapi fire brigade was rushed to the scene as soon as the accident was reported and started putting it out. Fire Brigade in-charge S.S. Patel informed that the reason for the fire can be short circuit. The company was still 10 percent operational but employees left the building after the fire. The blazes then rapidly spread to the drums of chemicals which resulted in further blasts.

 

More than 8 fire tenders were detained at the spot of the incident. The fire is now under control and no casualties have been reported yet.
