Indonesia: Mount Sinabung Volcano ejects new hot ash

Indonesia’s Mount Sinabung, a rumbling volcano located in Karo plateau of Karo RegencyNorth Sumatra which last erupted on August 10, 2020, spewed volcanic ash on Sunday i.e. 23 August 2020.

The authorities are keeping a close eye on the mountain after sensing activity from past 1 week. Although no causalities have been reported yet, authorities have urged the people residing in the nearby villages to stay 5 km (3.1 miles) away from the crater’s mouth. The eruption did not affect air transportation, as reported by the transport ministry.

The volcanic material- ash and smoke as high as 1000 metres (3280 feet) into the air on Sunday morning. around 3000 people had to leave their houses and shift to safer places in the past few years.
