Lightning Strikes in Bihar killed at least 7 with several injured

At least seven people are reported to have been killed due to lightning in different districts of Bihar today and last Sunday that accompanied thunderstorm and rainfall at many places. More than 6 people are also reported to have got severe burn injury .  Disaster Management Department, Government of Bihar has been issuing lightning and thunderstorm alert, that was predicting widespread lightning and thunderstorm at different places in the state. The alert is still operational till 12th of May.
Two persons are reported to have been killed in Patna, whereas one person each in Supaul, Darbhanga, Madhepura and Muzaffarpur lost their lives due to lightning Strikes. On last Sunday, one young boy exposed to lightning at the bank of river Mahananda in Katihar district and died , whereas 6 more got severe burn  injury .
Bihar’s Disaster Management Department has further issued lightning and thunderstorm alert for districts such as West Champaran ,Siwan and Gopalganj District with accompanying rainfall.
